Church
Boac Cathedral
Boac, Marinduque
Crowning a hill at the heart of the capital, this 18th-century fortress-church (rebuilt in 1792) once sheltered townsfolk from Moro raids behind thick coral-stone ramparts that still stand today. Declared a National Cultural Treasure, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception guards the revered image of Biglang Awa and presides over Boac's Holy Week.
Best time to visit
November to May (dry season); Holy Week for the Moriones processions.
How to get there
In Boac town proper — a short uphill walk from the public market, about 5 minutes from the town plaza.
