Mount Malindig
Buenavista, Marinduque
The perfect cone of Mount Malindig rises 1,157 metres over southern Marinduque — the island's highest peak and a dormant volcano. Once a guerrilla stronghold in WWII, today its forested slopes draw hikers for a challenging climb and summit views across the Sibuyan Sea.
Best time to visit
December to May (dry season); coordinate with the LGU/DENR for guides and permits.
How to get there
From Boac, head south to Buenavista (~1 hr); the jump-off in Sihi/Malbog is reached by tricycle, then it is a guided day hike.
