At Balanacan Point in Mogpog stands the Luzon Datum of 1911 — the single reference station from which all of the Philippines' maps and land surveys were once measured. The hilltop marker, beside a lighthouse, commands a sweeping view of the harbor where ferries from Lucena dock.
